Heavy Duty Cross Rail Kit for wooden beds

Bed Cross Rails are traditionally used on French Bed Frames. You can either use Ledges and a Centre Rail or Cross Rails to support a slatted bed bases. This Kit is Suitable for Wooden and Upholstered Bed Frames; not Metal beds.

This Heavy Duty Cross Rail Kit is an ideal solution if you are unable to use all attach a centre rail on the bed frame. Many manufacturers try to saving on Material when manufacturing bed frames; they do not leave you a section of timber on the headboard end for you screw a centre rail on.

These four Heavy Duty Cross Rails will be placed width wise along the bed. Ideally you would place the first and last cross rail approximately 4 -5 inches from the top and bottom of the bed. You would then spread the other two cross rail evenly between the first and last cross rails. 

You will need to remove your original side ledges that are screwed on the inside of your bed side rails (if they are present). This is ideal in a way as you can place the cross rails to your desired height; allowing you to choose whether you want your mattress to sit flush with the top of your side rails or if you want the mattress to sit within your bed frame.

Our Cross Rail Kits are suitable for wooden beds. The length of the cross rail can be cut to size on request

We can also cut them to any other size on request

The Internal dimensions of the metal brackets are 28mm x 35mm.

Optional Services

We are able to rebate the ends of the centre rail for you; this is ideal if you have a low profile bed frame or if you are restricted by the timber on the bed frame. We can rebate 25mm off; so the ends will be 35mm.
