FAQs

Yes. All of our headboard blanks are cut on a CNC machine. Our standard shapes are programmed so the width and height can be changed while keeping the proportions of the design. New custom shapes can also be produced from sketches, photos or web links, although a programming charge may apply.

Yes. We supply upholsterers, trade customers, hotels, landlords, interior designers and furniture makers. CNC cutting makes the blanks suitable for repeat designs and volume orders. Volume discounts may be available, and customers can contact us by email with project details, quantities and required sizes.

Yes. We can make headboard blanks in standard UK sizes, European sizes and custom sizes. Custom options can include width, height, shape, thickness, fixing positions, framed or unframed construction and trade quantities. For custom work, please email your measurements and design details.

No. We only supply the MDF board and agreed fixing preparation. Foam, Dacron, lining, fabric, adhesive, buttons, trims and upholstery labour are not included. Customers can choose their own upholstery materials and finish the headboard themselves or through their own upholsterer.

For headboards fitted to struts, we can provide riveted T-nuts for the headboard strut fixing points. Headboard struts are only supplied on request. For wall-mounted headboards, we can provide split battens. The battens are pre-drilled, but the headboard itself is not pre-drilled for the wall.

A ready to upholster headboard is an unfinished MDF headboard blank. It provides the board shape and fixing preparation, ready for the customer or upholsterer to add foam, Dacron, lining, fabric and finishing. It is suitable for trade upholstery, commercial projects and DIY headboard making.

Our headboard blanks are made from 12mm or 18mm MDF. Larger headboards are often made from 12mm MDF to help reduce weight, especially where the headboard may be wall mounted. The most suitable thickness depends on the size, fixing method and final upholstery design.

Measure the bed width, think about the finished headboard height, and decide how much headboard you want visible above the mattress and pillows. If fitting to struts, check the fixing hole centres on your bed frame. Also check access into the bedroom and make sure wall lights, sockets or other fittings are not in the way.
