Any Size, Made to Order
Looking for replacement sprung bed slats or building a new bed frame? Our 100% Beech Sprung Bed Slats are the industry standard for strength, flexibility, and durability – trusted far above Birch or Poplar alternatives.
We supply slats in 8mm, 10mm, and 12mm thicknesses:
- 8mm – the standard thickness used across the bed industry.
- 10mm or 12mm – a stronger, more durable option. Ideal for heavier mattresses, larger bed sizes (such as small double for one sleeper or emperor beds), and also commonly used in sofa beds.
To ensure a perfect fit, we can chamfer 10mm or 12mm slats down to 8mm at the ends so they slot easily into your existing plastic holders.

There are no “standard” lengths for sprung bed slats, as each bed frame is different. That’s why we offer a FREE length cutting service – simply provide your measurements, and we’ll make your slats to size.

FAQ - Sprung Bed Slats
-
What thickness of Sprung Bed Slats do I require?+ -
For most beds in the UK 8mm Sprung Slats should be sufficient. 8mm BEECH sprung bed slats are manufactured up to 1050mm in the bed industry. If you require them longer, you will need to go for either 10mm or 12mm sprung slats.
-
I currently have 8mm slats, should I upgrade to heavy duty 10mm or 12mm sprung slats?+ -
There is no harm in upgrading to thicker slats, they are more robust. Just ensure they will fitting into your existing bed slat holders. We can always machine the ends down from 10mm to 8mm or 12mm to 8mm; so they fit into your existing holders. The longer the slats, the weaker it will be. If you have a larger bed, it may be worth upgrading. It is definitely worth upgrading to stronger heavy duty bed slats, if the gap in-between your slats is 60mm or over.

-
I cannot find the size i require? Can you Help?+ -
If your sprung slats are either 9mm or 10mm, rather than 8mm. They are likely to be made from an inferior timber such as Birch or Poplar. You can generally see from the appearance (very light in colour) and light weight. As the timber is weaker, they will manufacture them thicker to compensate. I would recommend replacing these with 8mm slats if needed. If you purchase 10mm slats please ensure they will fit into your bed slat holders
